2025 NHL Mock Draft
The first round of the 2025 NHL draft is over, but we've re-mocked the second round with results from the first-round taken into consideration.

There were four trades during the first round and only draft picks were involved. Two of the trades involved second-round picks, with the Hurricanes gaining two picks.

First Round Traded Picks
# 12 - The Pittsburgh Penguins receive the New York Rangers 2025 1st round pick (via VAN) (Top 13 protected in 2025, unprotected 2026), Danton Heinen, Vincent Desharnais and Melvin Fernstrom for Marcus Pettersson and Drew O'Connor. The Vancouver Canucks receive the Rangers 2025 1st round pick (Top 13 protected in 2025, unprotected 2026), Filip Chytil, and Victor Mancini for J.T. Miller, Erik Brannstrom and Jack Dorrington.
# 16 - The New York Islanders receive the Calgary Flames 2025 1st round pick (via MTL), Montreal's 1st round pick (# 17) and Emil Heineman in a sign-and-trade for Noah Dobson. The Montreal Canadiens receive the Calgary Flames 2024 first-round pick (conditional - top 20 protected) and Sean Monahan for future considerations. Condition breakdown from Pro Sports Transactions - "conditional pick(s) (if Flames 2024 first is #20-32 then Canadiens have option to receive Flames 2024 first; or else: (A) if Panthers 2025 first transfers to Flames then (1) if both Flames and Panthers 2025 firsts are not in top 10 then Canadiens receive more favorable of Flames, Panthers picks; or (2) if Flames 2025 first is in top 10 and Panthers 2025 first is not in top 10 then Canadiens receive Panthers 2025 first; (B) if Panthers 2025 first does not transfer to Flames then (1) if Flames 2025 first is #1 overall then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 third and more favorable of Flames, Panthers 2026 firsts; or (2) if Flames 2025 first is #2-10 then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 first; or (3) if Flames 2025 first is not in top 10 then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 first and (a) if Panthers 2025 first is not in top 10 and (b) Panthers 2025 first has been transferred to another team and (c) Panthers 2025 first is more favorable than Flames then Canadiens receive Flames 2025 fourth)"

# 20 - The Columbus Blue Jackets receive the Minnesota Wild's 2025 1st round pick, 2026 3rd and 4th round picks, a 2027 2nd round pick and Daemon Hunt for David Jiricek, and a 2025 5th round pick.
# 22 - The Philadelphia Flyers receive the Colorado Avalanche's 2025 1st round pick (top 10 protected) and Ryan Johansen for Sean Walker and a 2026 5th round pick.
# 23 - The Nashville Predators receive the Tampa Bay Lightning's 2025 1st round pick (top 10 protected), 2024 3rd round pick, and 2023 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks for Tanner Jeannot.
# 25 - The Chicago Blackhawks receive the Toronto Maple Leafs 2025 1st round pick (top 10 protected, unprotected in 2026), 2026 2nd round pick, Joey Anderson and Pavel Gogolev for Jake McCabe (50% salary retained), Sam Lafferty, conditional 2024 and 2025 5th round picks.
# 26 - The Nashville Predators receive the Vegas Golden Knights 2025 1st round pick (via SJ), Magnus Chrona and David Edstrom for Yaroslav Askarov, Nolan Burke and a 2025 3rd round pick. The San Jose Sharks received the Golden Knights 2025 1st round pick, and David Edstrom for Tomas Hertl, 2025 3rd round pick and a 2027 3rd round pick.
# 30 - The San Jose Sharks receive the Dallas Stars 2025 first-round pick and a conditional 2025 3rd round pick (DAL 3rd if they make the Stanley Cup Final, if not, Winnipeg's 2025 4th round pick) for Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci.
# 31 - The Philadelphia Flyers receive the Edmonton Oilers 1st round pick (top-12 protected) for a 2024 1st round pick (# 32 - drafted Sam O'Reilly).
# 32 - The Calgary Flames receive the Florida Panthers 2025 1st round pick (lottery protected in 2025, unprotected in 2026), Jonathan Huberdeau, MacKenzie Weegar, and Cole Schwindt for Matthew Tkachuk, and a conditional 2025 4th round pick (if the Flames have to send their 2025 1st round pick to the Panthers from the MTL-CGY trade involving Sean Monahan, then it becomes a 2026 4th round pick.
