Logan Hensler's Player Profile

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - June 10th: "His defending is OK. His length and feet will allow him to make stops and retrieve effectively in the NHL, but he’s not a super-hard-to-play-against type. Hensler doesn't stand out at any one thing, but he does enough well that he should be a solid NHL defenseman."

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 9th: "Hensler (6-2, 192) a right-handed shot who skates well and showed no problem handling older, more physically developed forwards in the defensive zone as a college freshman. The 18-year-old had 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) in 32 games and averaged 12:12 of ice time in seven games to help the U.S. win gold at the WJC."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 9th: "The sixth-youngest player in NCAA hockey had 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) and 30 blocked shots in 32 games as a college freshman after he had 32 points (four goals, 28 assists) in 61 games with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program Under-18 team in 2023-24."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 2nd: "Hensler’s clearly a talented player and good prospect but he’s not a no-doubter offensive defenseman or a lockdown defensive D type. He’s a smooth, mobile, balanced skater. He can use his feet to attack and create lanes. He’s a good athlete."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 27th: "Still, there’s a lot to like. He’s a 6-foot-2, mobile blueliner who has good reach and can rough guys up. He’s even better in his own zone. You won’t confuse him for a puck-rushing offensive defenseman, though."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - May 12th: "He makes an excellent first pass, and he can contribute quite well offensively as well. Hensler is a two-way defender who will need to get a bit stronger and steadier in front of his net, but he has a good basis to build on."

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - March 26th: "Spence has the ability to be a difference maker. When he’s on his game he brings a combination of skill and will to the equation. He’s put together physically and already plays at NHL pace."

Smaht Scouting - March 23rd: "Even on a bottom 6, in the future, he’ll need a puck-carrying center to play with to be effective. He’s a decent passer and fine in his own zone even if the effort comes and goes, but players like him in the OHL rarely evolve into players with top 6 NHL production."
