Ben Kindel's Player Profile

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - June 10th: "I wouldn't describe him as the typical small, dynamic offensive player you would see as a projected NHL player. Rather, I think he could make it because of his talent plus his work ethic. Kindel is a diligent player away from the puck who gives a strong effort at both ends of the ice. He projects as a middle-six winger."

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 9th: "The 18-year-old was seventh in the WHL with 99 points (35 goals, 64 assists) in 65 games and showcased great skating and quickness with strong playmaking ability."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 9th: "The right-shot center can play any situation, is smart and responsible with and without the puck and is an asset on the power play and penalty kill. His 23-game point streak (15 goals, 30 assists) from Nov. 8 to Jan. 12 was the second-longest in the WHL, behind Medicine Hat forward and top 2026 NHL Draft prospect Gavin McKenna (40 games)."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 2nd: "He’s a worker with legit skill and smarts. That combination of effort, sense and talent really blends well together at the junior level and though he looks a little lean, it doesn’t present itself in his game because of his work rate and pace of play. He’s also got quick hands in tight to his body."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 27th: "Kindel does a great job of finding open space and exploiting it, and he has a shot he can unleash from just about anywhere. Below-average skating and a lack of a physical edge knock him down a few pegs, but many teams should consider him for his pure puck skills and solid all-around improvement."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - May 12th: "He isn’t the biggest player, but he puts in the work to stay in position, open himself up for a pass and hunt pucks down. He must add some bulk and strength to succeed at the next level because he can get pushed around, but he doesn’t often get pushed off the puck."

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - March 26th: "Undersized offensive dynamo – Shoot first approach – Exceptionally dangerous on the PP. (61GP-40G-38A)

Smaht Scouting - March 23rd: "He uses his speed to stretch the ice and push defending teams back, which opens more space for opportunities. To begin the year, he was the one mostly reaping the benefits, but with 23 assists since mid December, he’s proven he can dish the puck for his teammates to finish adding another dimension to his offensive game."
