Sascha Boumedienne's Player Profile

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - June 10th: "His skating gets you excited about his NHL projection. He has NHL foot speed and edge work, and his stride gets him around the ice effortlessly. He closes on gaps and retrieves pucks like a pro. His puck game is good, but not amazing."

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 9th: "The Capitals can continue to add to their prospect depth on defense with Boumedienne (6-2, 187), who displayed a mature game as a college freshman and had 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 40 games."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 9th: "The youngest defenseman in NCAA hockey had a strong second half to the season with seven points (three goals, four assists) in his final 12 games. He's poised, defends well and has the ability to skate and transition the puck well. He will play a bigger role for Boston University next season."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 2nd: "He’s a plus-skater who provided two-way transition value in junior, with a long and fluid stride that is complemented by good footwork and balanced four-way mobility. He’s got natural glide but can also stay on top of the ice and flow through his skating patterns."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 27th: "He’s strong, skates well and has real skill with the puck. He often played between 18-20 minutes a night and got better as the season wore on."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - May 12th: "The fluidity in his movement and quickness allow him to defend at a high level and capably move the puck up ice when he recovers it. Boumedienne is a very toolsy player, and he’s the kind of prospect you let marinate in college for another couple of years to really give him the time to work on the details of his game."

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - March 26th: "For his stature, Fiddler moves very well off the puck and has the ability to join the rush as an extra layer. Defensively he does whatever it takes to keep pucks out of his net. He gets in shooting lanes to block shots and he's efficient with his outlets."

Smaht Scouting - March 23rd: "He’s becoming more and more confident in his puck moving, attempting riskier passes and picking spots better, but his biggest strength remains his defensive game, especially on the rush, continuing to completely erase promising zone entries for the other team more often than not. A defenseman like Fiddler, who can move the puck effectively, skate and defend very well is incredibly valuable in today’s NHL, especially when they’re a right-handed shooter."
