2022 NHL Draft Results - Round 1
The 2022 NHL draft from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, is now in the books.
There were a few surprises on the first day of the draft. The Canadiens entertained the home crowd with the first overall pick, and a few trades along the way.
225 players in total were drafted over the seven rounds.

Draft Day First Round Traded Picks
# 11 and # 27 - The Arizona Coyotes receive the San Jose Sharks 2022 1st round pick (# 11) for a 2022 1st round pick (# 27) and two 2022 2nd round picks (# 34 and 45).
# 13 - The Chicago Blackhawks receive the New York Islanders 2022 1st round pick (via MTL) and a 2022 3rd round pick (# 66) for Kirby Dach. The Montreal Canadiens acquired the Islanders 1st round pick (# 13) for Alex Romanov and a 2022 4th round pick (# 99).
# 25 - The Chicago Blackhawks receive the Toronto Maple Leafs 2022 1st round pick (# 25) and Petr Mrazek for a 2022 2nd round pick (# 38).
# 29 and 32 - The Arizona Coyotes receive the Edmonton Oilers 2022 1st round pick (# 29), Zack Kassian, 2025 2nd and a 2024 3rd for a 2022 1st round pick.

# 7 - The Chicago Blackhawks receive the Ottawa Senators 1st and 2nd (# 39) round picks, and a 2023 3rd round pick for Alex DeBrincat.
# 16 - The Buffalo Sabres receive the Vegas Golden Knights 2022 1st round pick (top 10 protected), Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs and a 2023 3rd round pick for Jack Eichel and a 2023 3rd round pick.
# 19 - The Minnesota Wild receive the Los Angeles Kings 2022 1st round pick and Brock Faber for Kevin Fiala.
# 22 - The Anaheim Ducks receive the Boston Bruins 2022 1st round pick, 2023 and 2024 2nd round picks, John Moore and Urho Vaakanainen for Hampus Lindholm (50% salary retained) and Kodie Curran.
# 26 - The Montreal Canadiens receive the Calgary Flames 2022 1st round pick (top 10 protected, or a 2023 1st and 2024 4th), 2024 5th round pick, Emil Heinemann and Tyler Pitlick.
# 27 - The Arizona Coyotes receive a Montreal Canadiens conditional 2022 1st round pick and a 2024 2nd round pick for Christian Dvorak. The Coyotes receive the better of the Canadiens and Carolina Hurricanes 1st round picks. If either or both of the Canadiens and Hurricanes are in the top 10 after the draft lottery, the Coyotes will get the worse of the two. * - The Montreal Canadiens receive the Carolina Hurricanes 2022 1st round and 3rd round picks for not matching the offer sheet for Jesperi Kotkaniemi.
# 28 - The Buffalo Sabres receive the Florida Panthers 2022 1st round pick and Devon Levi for Sam Reinhart.
# 30 - The Winnipeg Jets receive the New York Rangers 2022 1st round pick (was a conditional 2nd), 2022 2nd round pick (# 55), Morgan Barron, and a 2023 5th round pick for Andrew Copp and a 2023 6th round pick.
# 32 - The Arizona Coyotes receive the Colorado Avalanche's 2022 1st round pick, Conor Timmins, and a conditional 2024 3rd round pick (if the Avalanche will the up in 2021-22 and Kuemper plays in 50 percent of their playoff games) for Darcy Kuemper.
