Ryker Lee's Player Profile

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - June 10th: "His skating is also a concern for scouts. He gets around fine in the USHL, but he lacks the quick twitch you'd like in an NHL winger, especially given his average-sized frame. His talent could get his games, but his lack of pace will likely test a coach's patience."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 2nd: "He’s a crafty offensive forward who can make plays inside the offensive zone, off the rush and on the half-wall on the power play. He thinks the game at a very advanced level offensively. His skating could use another step and his play off the puck defensively could use some rounding out, and that, combined with his average size and competitiveness as a winger, will mean he’ll be a second-round pick."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 27th: "Lee has been one of the best players in the USHL this season, using his quick hands and excellent hockey IQ in the offensive zone to win so many battles. He’s not big and can be pushed around a bit too much at times, but he doesn’t let it get to him and is quite competitive."

Smaht Scouting - March 23rd: "Melvin Novotny is a player who I think is flying a bit under-the-radar for everybody, because he might not have that eye-catching factor in many aspects of his game that others have. However, he is a player who knows how to move well on the ice, understands the game at a high level, and when needed, can turn on the speed and showcase his puck-handling skills to make an impact."
