2016 NHL Draft Lottery Odds

The NHL has made changes to the 2016 draft lottery odds. The team with the worst record will have a harder time winning the draft lottery, as well as remaining in the top three.

There will be three draws this year. There will be draws for the first overall pick, then a draw for the 2nd overall, then one for the third overall pick.

After the drawing for the top three slots, the remaining four through 14 will go in inverse order of their regular season points.

The team with the worst record at the end of the regular season can draft no lower than fourth. They have a 20 percent chance of winning the draft lottery and selecting first, but they have a 47.5 percent chance of drafting fourth.
