Conor Geekie's Player Profile

Brock Otten - McKeen's Hockey - Nov. 16th: "Geekie is that prototypical, big (6’4), power center that all NHL teams are coveting these days. He can control the pace of play and he can dominate down low because of his ability to protect the puck."

Ryan Kennedy - The Hockey News - Nov. 11th: "His combination of size and skill are hard to find in a pivot and I believe NHL scouts are going to fight over him. Geekie is playing for a wagon of a team in Winnipeg."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - Nov. 3rd: "He’s got impressive hands and body control for his size, which helps him control pucks inside the offensive zone and make plays while also getting the upper hand in board battles. He plays through bumps and thrives taking pucks from the cycle to dangerous areas."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Nov. 3rd: "Even when not producing, can still impact the game by either playing physically or matching up against the opposition’s best."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - Oct. 25th: "He’s got great size, a ton of skill — showing great imagination as a handler and distributor. He also has an edge to his game, showing no fear of attacking the net or using his body to engage in physical play."

Bob McKenzie - TSN - Sept. 30th: "Speed isn’t necessarily his best attribute, but, as the scouts say, “he gets there” just fine and his multi-dimensional game allows him to play with skill players high in the lineup or lower in the lineup as match-up/shutdown centre against the other team’s best players."

Craig Button - TSN - Sept. 30th: "Creative, smart and makes plays that generates offence. Very good puck skills in tight. He plays inside the dots and to the net and challenges defenders. Potential to be a top-line centre."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - Sept. 15th: "Geekie’s a big center with impressive hands who battles hard, fights back against contact, skates really well for his size, plays through bumps, and thrives taking pucks from the cycle to dangerous areas."

Nick Richard - Dobber Prospects - Sept. 3rd: "He has exceptional puck handling skills and can beat defenders with slick dekes to generate dangerous scoring chances. His shot grades out highly as well, featuring a quick and deceptive release that he can let fly in traffic."

Ben Kerr - LWOS - Aug. 9th: "He uses his long reach and good stickhandling to protect the puck and extend possession down low. Geekie is not the most aggressive player but his size makes him very effective in protecting the puck in the cycle game as well as creating havoc in front of the net."
