Joakim Kemell's Player Profile

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 29th: "Playing most of this season as a 17-year-old (he turned 18 on April 27), Kemell scored 15 goals in 39 games, the most by an under-18 player in Liiga since Kaapo Kakko scored 22 in 45 games in 2018-19."

Mike - Morreale - June 29th: "Kemell is a good skater with acceleration and speed who is considered a highly skilled playmaker that sees the ice well. He led Finland with six goals in five games at the World U-18s."

Peter Harling - NHL Rumors - June 27th: "Projected to be potentially the best goal scorer in this draft class, Kemell often has lopsided stats with more goals than assists. Injuries in the second half of the season took some of the wind out of his draft stock sails."

Jeff Svoboda - NHL.com - June 27: "Kemell is an intriguing prospect, and the winger stood out at the NHL Scouting Combine for his results in the Wingate Test and force plate tests. On the ice, Kemell has one of the best shots in the draft, and his goal-scoring ability, skating and creativity make him a high-end offensive player."

Eetu Siltanen - Dobber Prospects - June 18th: "While Kemell is primarily a sniper, his overall game is more well-rounded than that. He competes very hard and despite being listed under 5-10 at the combine, he loves to throw his weight around, engage in battles, and definitely isn’t afraid to go to tight spaces."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 6th: "He’s a slick, play-creating winger who excels in possession, carves teams up through coverage to take the play from the flanks to the interior, and possesses quick, light hands."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 31: "Kemell is a well-rounded winger who has almost every NHL attribute you want other than the size at 5-foot-11. He brings skill and speed to his shifts, showing the ability to carry the puck up ice and create chances for himself and his teammates."

Chris Peters - Daily Faceoff - June 10th: " His skating is pretty good as he’s shown some ability to separate, but I don’t think he’s a natural burner. He’s best in the offensive half of the ice and can be a high-end scorer at the next level with a top-six ceiling."
