Arizona Coyotes Top Prospects

A look at the Arizona Coyotes top prospects heading into the 2015-16 season. The write ups for the prospects are from mid-season, updating the progress of some of the Coyotes top prospects.

Dylan Strome: Center - 6'3" / 195
Drafted: 3rd overall to the Arizona Coyotes in 2015

Dylan Strome tormented the OHL en route to a scoring title a year ago, recording an absurd 129 points in 68 regular season games (1.90 per game) with the Erie Otters.

After a getting a look with the Coyotes in training camp they elected to send Strome back to the OHL for another year of seasoning.

Strome has picked up right where he left off last season as in 28 games he has tallied 61 points (2.17 per game) and is a huge reason why the Otters sit atop of an extremely tough Western Conference.

His strong play landed him a spot on Team Canada's World Junior team where he was arguably their best player, scoring four times and adding six points in five games prior to Canada's elimination.

By all accounts he has had an excellent season and figures to be a key player for the Coyotes as early as next season.

Christian Dvorak: Center - 6'1" / 195
Drafted: 58th overall to the Arizona Coyotes in 2014

Dvorak has developed into one of the top prospects in hockey over the last couple seasons.

A year ago he scored 41 goals and registered 109 points in 66 games with the London Knights and, along with Mitch Marner, was part of arguably the most prolific duo in the OHL.

He's taken the next step forward this season having scored 29 goals and put up 69 points in 29 games. As you might expect his 2.37 points per game are good for 1st in the OHL.

Dvorak is coming off a very strong showing at the World Juniors where he tallied eight points in seven games for the United States.

He has since returned to London and will play a key role for a Knights team down the stretch that has Memorial Cup aspirations.

Brendan Perlini: Left Wing - 6'3" / 215
Drafted: 12th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in 2014

After a strong post-draft year Perlini has taken a bit of a step back in 2015-16.

His production has decreased significantly having dropped from 1.39 points per game a year ago to just .86 points per game this season.

He failed to right the ship at the World Juniors, too, as he did not record a point and took three minor penalties in five games.

Despite Perlini's struggles this season his Niagara IceDogs sit 3rd in the OHL's Eastern Conference. If he can find his stride they can be a very dangerous team.

Regardless of what Perlini does down the stretch and in the playoffs, it's probably safe to assume he will spend next season in the AHL for more seasoning.
