Tomas Chrenko's Player Profile

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - April 14th: "He’s not big, and some scouts wonder if he’d be better on the wing in the NHL. But as a pure shooter, especially on the power play, there’s a lot to love. Chrenko needs to round his game out a bit more to convince me he’ll be an NHLer, but the talent is definitely there."

Dauton Reimer - The Hockey Writers - March 25th: "Back home, he’s been the best teenager in the Slovak pro league, doubling the points of the next highest scorer. He is a bit of a power play assassin, so if he can increase his effectiveness five-on-five, he’ll be a fantastic middle-six scorer."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - March 17th: "He competes well and has some jam. He can play at different paces. He has some deception on the puck in both his handling and his quick release. He's smart and gets open, but can also use his good hands to play through holes and get pucks to open linemates."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - March 13th: "I want him to be better at 5-on-5, given that’s where the majority of the game is played. But on the man advantage, Chrenko is a legit game-changer in a way very few in this draft class are. If he can be more dangerous at even strength, he’ll be a steal."

Peter Baracchini - The Hockey Writers - March 10th: "He’s a very dynamic and skilled player, but also is a competitor and plays with a great amount of pace to his game. He’s responsible without the puck, providing decent coverage and when on the attack, he can open things up easily with his playmaking or walk-in for a prime scoring opportunity."

Smaht Scouting - February 27th: "Chrenko is a shifty player who regularly uses quick edges and soft hands to challenge defenders directly. His playmaking game is all about deception, drawing coverage towards him before distributing and keep his eyes away from his intended targets. He’s also a bit of a sneaky shooter, using a quick release and changing the angles of his blade to catch Goaltenders by surprise."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - February 23rd: "He knows where he must be, gets to his spot and bursts through traffic. Chrenko shows off some nice playmaking, finding teammates for give-and-go's or quick little passes around or to the net front. He works hard off the puck as well, which improves his case as a potential third-line scorer at the next level."
