Marcus Nordmark's Player Profile

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - April 14th: "But scouts are worried that he’s a ghost defensively and that if he doesn’t dominate offensively, he won’t be good enough to crack the NHL. So he’s polarizing, which isn’t surprising for a 17-year-old with so much room to grow. Is he legit? Scouts aren’t sure yet."

Dauton Reimer - The Hockey Writers - March 25th: "Paired with a high-end vision, he can find impossible passing lanes and the slightest shooting angles. He’ll need to work on his defensive presence and backchecking, but his ability to manipulate the puck to his will cannot be ignored."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - March 17th: "He’s a highly talented, shifty forward who has played all three forward positions at different points but projects as a knifing skill winger. He has great (!) hands and instincts offensively. He can play in open ice or in puck protection/traffic. He also has decent size and a hard, dangerous snap shot (one of the better ones I’ve seen in the age group) that he can blow past goalies."

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - March 17th: "Nordmark could be one of the disruptors in the first-round of the draft. He brings a combination of size, speed and willingness to make plays in traffic. Nordmark has been one of the most prolific scorers at the U18 level on the international stage, where he’s produced 15G-13A in 14 games representing Sweden."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - March 13th: "Nordmark blends high-end skill and hockey sense to create havoc in the offensive zone. He routinely picks apart opponents in his own age group and has been truly dominant internationally. But scouts are worried that he’s a ghost defensively and that if he doesn’t dominate offensively, he won’t be good enough to crack the NHL."

Peter Baracchini - The Hockey Writers - March 10th: "He always wants to be involved and displays that on a consistent basis with puck possession game and high-end skillset and makes sure to capitalize on them every time. The goal scoring abilities, passing and compete level in battles really made him a valuable player for both club and international play."

Smaht Scouting - February 27th: "He has a fantastic release, slick hands, great passing, and an intuitive understanding of where he needs to be in the offensive zone to create chances for himself and his team-mates. Simply put, Nordmark’s upside is high, and it easy to see him becoming a first line NHL winger one day."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - February 25th: "Nordmark possesses top-notch puck-handling ability, he’s got deception in his game and he can get pucks to the net with speed and accuracy. He pays attention to his defensive game and can be relied on in a number of situations."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - February 23rd: "Nordmark has struggled to adjust to the pace of the men's game from the junior level, but when he ramps things up, you can tell he has the difference-making factor. It's a gamble on a player who has upper-echelon skill and creativity."
