Alessandro Di Iorio's Player Profile
Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - April 14th: "Di Iorio does an excellent job of carrying the puck through the middle of the ice, showcasing his high-end playmaking and his quick release. While he has fallen out of the first round for me and for many others, I still think he’s smart and toolsy enough to find a role in the NHL. A good showing at the U-18s could be beneficial."Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - March 17th: "He has quick crossovers and room to add muscle. He can play out wide, and I've seen him pick corners from mid-range with his curl-and-drag wrister (he has a shooter's shot and I expect him to score more this year) and facilitate with his good feel as a passer, but he's also sneaky strong on stick lifts and willing to go to inside ice. His combination of smarts and skill, I think, had him poised for a step in his draft year with Sarnia, but it was delayed after he hurt his elbow prior to the season, and he hasn't been as productive as I expected since (after a two-goal return)."
Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - March 13th: "Even when he’s not putting pucks in the net, Di Iorio is always driving the play, making responsible decisions with the puck, and seems to make everyone around him better. Di Iorio does an excellent job of carrying the puck through the middle of the ice, showcasing his high-end playmaking and his quick release."
Smaht Scouting - February 27th: "Di Iorio is a competitive, hard-to-play-against center whose game is built around support, physical engagement, and finishing ability rather than pace or playmaking. He’s constantly involved around the puck, provides reliable support in all three zones, and has a legitimately dangerous wrist/snap shot that allows him to score without needing much time or space. "
