Adam Goljer's Player Profile
Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - April 14th: "Playing close to 20 minutes a night against men is no small feat for a 17-year-old, no matter the league. I like his gap control, his proficiency as a passer, and the pure power he plays with. I think he can get a bit antsy and make mistakes with his defensive reads under pressure, and his foot speed needs work. But there’s raw talent there."Will Scouch - Scouching.ca - April 13th: "Great awareness and sense off the puck puts him in good positions for well times knockdowns or stick checks, and he gets the puck moving up the ice effectively once the turnover is generated. I’d love to see him stretch out a bit and work on strengthening every stride to improve his puck carrying potential, but there is a good set of fundamentals that hopefully can work their way into an NHL lineup once he develops a bit more strength and gets some good experience at better levels of play."
Dauton Reimer - The Hockey Writers - March 25th: "He is very calm while defending and isn’t bothered by much, which has allowed him to jump up to the top pairing on his team in the Slovak top division, as well as his ability to move smoothly through the neutral zone and quarterback a power play. With strong skating mechanics, a well-developed offensive sense, and strong defensive tendencies, he could emerge as a future top-four two-way defenceman."
Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - March 17th: "He’s a pro-sized right-shot D with standout skating that gives him two-way value. He moves really well, he takes good routes defensively and he’ll jump into the attack in transition. He's also pretty competitive."
Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - March 13th: "Goljer, meanwhile, is 6-foot-3 with an excellent shot and does many things quite well. He’s not flashy and won’t wow you in many areas. But he’s well-rounded, smart and already has plenty of experience playing against older competition."
Smaht Scouting - February 27th: "Defensively, he plays with an active stick and reach, using both effectively to disrupt plays and manage his gaps. He moves well for his size and is a capable puck mover from the back end, showing poise and vision in the offensive zone. While he leans more toward a defensive profile, he has the mobility to jump into the rush when the opportunity is there."
Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - February 23rd: "Goljer is also a calm defender with the puck. He seems to understand he's not a dynamic presence, but he has the confidence to skate with the puck until he needs to make the pass after drawing an opposing defender. He's a nice project to take on."
