Charlie Trethewey's Player Profile

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - June 10th: "This year, he looked like more of a basic first-pass type. Trethewey has a great shot, though, and is often a threat to score from the blue line. He's not overly physical, but defends well enough due to his decent size and mobility."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 2nd: "He can attack, he can handle the puck, he defends hard (though his decisions/reads/timing could use a little polish) and there’s pro quality to his game that should refine as he continues to get reps. He's strong. His game doesn’t always seem buttoned up and he can tend to look for the shot a little too much but he’s got the potential to be a stud in college offensively, and he’s got the makeup to defend hard and firm."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 27th: "But there’s still a lot to like about the way he moves the puck and gets it into scoring lanes. He’s one of the youngest players in the draft, is a right-handed shot, and he’s smart, too. Trethewey is prone to trying to do too much and can make mistakes, but he’s still a reasonable project prospect."

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - March 26th: "Averages over 24 minutes per game. Deployed in all situations. A two-way defenceman with depth offence. (53GP-5G-9A)"
