Cameron Schmidt's Player Profile
Corey Pronman - The Athletic - June 10th: "He plays with a bit of an edge, which you like at that size, but his compete will need to be excellent to succeed in the NHL, and at times, I haven't seen that effort in his game. I could see him miss, but his traits other than his size are so good there's a path to him being a middle six wing."Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 2nd: "Schmidt plays the game to attack, challenge and score, with an ability to threaten inside the offensive zone and off the rush, both pouncing and being opportunistic around the slot but also knifing past defenders on cuts or attacking into his heavy curl-and-drag wrister (he really settles it into his pocket and then uncorks it). He’s a worker who will get after it, jump on loose pucks, win races and then manufacture offense out of it in quick bursts"
Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 27th: "Schmidt is a pure offensive forward with great speed and likes being in front of the net. I’m not sold that he’ll be able to translate his game to the NHL, but I like the potential."
Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - May 12th: "Schmidt can fly in transition, and when he unleashes his shot on the rush, he can beat a goalie clean. He has a lightning-quick release, and he loves to change the angle as he shoots."
Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - March 26th: "Nesbitt has grown tall in his youth and has loads of room to add more weight and strength to his frame. It’s impossible to teach size, and Nesbitt has it in spades. He approaches the game with a combination of power and skill."
