Adam Benak's Player Profile

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 2nd: "Benak is tiny but he’s also one of the best skaters and smartest forwards in the draft and the more I’ve watched him and asked around about him the more inclined I’ve been to trust he has a real chance to defy the odds of his size. His skating, skill and smarts all get very high marks, with a standout quickness from a standstill that matches his quick reads of the ice."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 27th: "Benák is one of the biggest high-risk, high-reward players in this draft – and it mostly comes down to his petite frame. The 5-foot-7 forward has the most points in Hlinka Gretzky Cup history and has generally been downright dominant at the junior national team level."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - May 12th: "Benak won’t even be on some NHL boards because of his size, which is unfortunate because of just how high-level his raw talent is. Benak will be one of the most interesting players because although you could see him squeaking into the first round or falling to the middle rounds."

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - March 26th: "Ability to play quick and fast and deployed in a variety of roles. Better than secondary offence. (67GP-25G-26A)"

Smaht Scouting - March 23rd: "While he isn’t a high-volume shooter, he shows patience, often waiting to deliver passes until the target is in an optimal shooting lane. That said, his shot selection can still use work—he tends to fire from low-percentage areas when no other options are available and sometimes forces pucks into traffic."
