Trevor Connelly's Player Profile

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - June 11th: "He’s an elusive offensive talent who’s always in motion. Connelly’s difficult to check and contain. He’s a combination play driver, distributor, and shooter who does have some work to do on the defensive side of the ledger."

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 11th: "Connelly (6-1, 160) has game-breaking talent, but there are questions about his on- and off-ice maturity that need to be answered by whatever team selects him. That includes a game misconduct for an illegal check to the head in the third period of the gold-medal game at the U-18s that led to three Canada power-play goals, and a 3-2 United States lead becoming a 6-4 loss."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 11th: "His game is predicated on speed, skill, vision and compete and he's too good to pass up at this point in the draft. He averaged 1.50 points in 52 games, first in the USHL among players with at least 30 games."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "On talent alone, Connelly belongs in the top 15 discussion. But talent alone is not going to be the key part of Connelly’s evaluation. Teams continue to do their due diligence on issues from Connelly’s past, and continue to assess his maturity and overall character to see if they're comfortable selecting him."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "Connelly’s a high-end talent who has room to develop physically and add strength, and whose slight build doesn’t hold back his shot (which uses a quick release to fool goalies, although his one-touch shots in the slot do often lack power) or his skating (which is really fast and pretty fluid even without the muscle/power that's coming). I like his work rate off of the puck."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "His playmaking isn't as good as his one-on-one play, but it's good enough. Connelly competes well enough off the puck, attacks the net and can be a reliable defensive forward. He has some physical play in him but also can lack discipline."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "From an on-ice perspective, Connelly has so much going for him. He’s been the best player on the ice in both tournaments he represented the United States in and lit up the USHL all season long. He almost cracked 80 points this year, making him one of the most productive wingers in the draft class."

David Saad - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "Connelly continues to establish himself as one of the most dynamic offensive threats in this year’s draft. His ability to string together improbable routes through multiple defensive layers is matched by few."

Central Scouting - Apr. 16th: "Seems to have an ability to play the game at his pace and find openings and options that few others can. Plays a two-way game which makes him a threat as much on the penalty kill as on the power play. "

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - Apr. 15th: "On the ice, Connelly is a wicked offensive player who plays at a high pace with an excellent skill level and the ability to truly drive play from the wing. He is the catalyst for offense in Tri-City, using his speed to back off defenses and his puck skill to create space for himself."
