Tij Iginla's Player Profile

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 11th: "He might not have the dynamic skill that pulls people out of their seats, but his playmaking ability, vision and hockey sense make him a special player."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 11th: "Iginla (6-foot, 191) led Kelowna with 47 goals and was second with 84 points and 11 power-play goals in 64 regular-season games. He also had 12 points (six goals, six assists) in seven games for gold medal-winning Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Under-18 Championship."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "Iginla has elite hands, with quick puck skills and a deadly release. His rise up the draft charts has been fueled by his game improving with each passing month. Iginla has good details off the puck, where he can be disruptive to the opposing team."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "He's an excellent skater who can beat you in a straight-out race, cut past you laterally with quick weight shifts, or build speed through tight crossover patterns around the offensive zone. On the puck, he's a threatening individual creator who can create in knifing bursts and works quickly to put defenders on their heels, attacking on angles and jumps."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "He gets to the inside to score as well and displays a strong effort away from the puck. His pure sense and playmaking don't stand out like the rest of his game, though. He projects as a strong top-six wing who will score a lot of goals."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "Iginla is a solid distributor, don’t get me wrong. But with the puck on his stick, he’s a dangerous generator. He plays with good pace, and while he isn’t big, he’s physically strong. There’s top-six potential here for a guy who loves controlling the pace of play."

Hadi Kalakeche - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "With Iginla, as good as the scoring is, it isn’t even his biggest strength: his board game is. No one else in this draft gets off the wall as frequently and as efficiently as Iginla does. He also happens to be one of the smartest forwards in the draft, with a sixth sense for finding open ice off the puck and great vision to connect with teammates off the cycle."

Central Scouting - Apr. 16th: "He is strong and hungry on the puck and has an effective game along the boards and corners when battling for pucks. Provides a consistent offensive output as a creative playmaker and natural goal scorer who has that shoot first mentality and possesses an excellent finishing shot with a very good release."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - Apr. 15th: "His goal-scoring comes in various ways as well. Whether it's a shot from the faceoff dot or crashing the net and burying a rebound, he is always around the puck. That said, Iginla’s playmaking is probably the most underrated part of his game."
