Tanner Howe Profile

Position: C/LW
Team: Regina (WHL)

Tanner Howe's Player Profile

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - June 11th: "He was left out on his own island this year as the Pats looked to rebuild their team. Howe’s top element is clearly his potential to produce offence. He has the skill set to complement a play-driving centreman."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "He’s able to challenge defenders and is aggressive on the forecheck despite not being a bigger player. His skill, however, isn’t as projectable into an NHL top six. You can see him carving out a role with the skating ability and the work ethic, providing some scoring depth down an NHL lineup."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "He doesn’t necessarily wow you with his skill level for a player with his statistical profile and size, but he makes a lot of small-area plays (little five-to-10-foot passes through feet and sticks under pressure), he always seems to be around the puck inside the offensive zone, he’s tenacious off the puck, he finishes his checks, he can play down the middle or on the wing and he’s got well-rounded skill and decent skating (which he hasn't always been given credit for but demonstrated in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game's testing)."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "He's a tenacious player who throws his weight around constantly and plays the game with a high motor. He has the ingredients to play in the league as an undersized player and I think he could be a bottom six wing."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "Howe was a high-end scorer again this year, and he loves to compete, but his skating and smaller frame don’t help. Despite that, Howe battles for pucks and has the energy that can make him more valuable if he isn’t cast into a scoring role."

Luke Sweeney - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "Howe’s best—and most projectable—qualities are his abilities to play through contact as a smaller player, create offensive zone entries, play a possession game along the boards, and funnel to the net to bang in greasy goals. Howe’s showed flashes of dynamic playmaking and puckhandling upside, but even without these, Howe still projects as a dependable, tenacious middle-six winger with scoring upside."
