Team: Windsor (OHL)

Liam Greentree's Player Profile

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - June 11th: "He leans goal scorer/shooter more than natural playmaker overall. He complements smaller, more darting linemates. Greentree is difficult to defend in the trenches. His size, strength, and skill allow him to extend plays that generally lead to offence."

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 11th: "He has NHL-ready size and showed a high level of maturity as captain and leading scorer on a Windsor team that finished 19th among 20 teams in the OHL. As one NHL scout said, "I think he's a beast right now. Imagine him in two years."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 11th: "Greentree (6-3, 215), Windsor's captain, led the Spitfires in goals (36), assists (54), points (90) and power-play goals (11) in 64 games. The 18-year-old left-handed shot can protect the puck, goes hard to the net and is very nimble and creative for a player his size."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "Greentree has tremendous touch on the puck, a good shot and excellent vision. He finishes a lot of the plays he creates, but the skating ability is a clear below-average trait that will make it more challenging for him to create offense at the level he has in junior."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "Greentree's a big, strong kid whose game is all about being around it. He finds his ways onto pucks inside the offensive zone, stays on them, wins battles, keeps his feet moving (though a little slowly from a standstill) even though he’s not the quickest player, plays an opportunistic style, and then has decent skill and an NHL release (the puck comes off of his stick hard and quickly, and hits his spots)."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "The main concern on Greentree is his skating. He lacks NHL footspeed and he will need to prove the rest of his game is good enough to overcome those issues. Given his size/skill combo, I think he will, and has a chance to be a top nine wing who can help a power play."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "Greentree did a lot of heavy lifting for the Spitfires this year, but he was a bit too quiet at the U-18s for my liking. He makes himself difficult to play against, thanks to his frame, giving him a chance to make the NHL as a power forward."

Hadi Kalakeche - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "However, Greentree’s heavy skating stride really limits him. He lacks fluidity in his skating mechanics, stemming from poor posture. This leads to more energy wasted with each stride and, inevitably, more gliding and corner-cutting."

Central Scouting - Apr. 16th: "A good combination of size and skill – he is very effective at driving the play to the net and getting open to shoot. He protects the puck well and is hard to check, especially off the cycle slipping into scoring areas. Good offensive creativity and confidence with the puck, makes plays using his soft hands in tight."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - Apr. 15th: "His skating is certainly the area he needs to work on the most moving forward, but he shows an incredible ability to make plays under pressure and deal with defenders leaning on him. His intelligence and play identification allow him to time his routes and pop into pockets at the perfect time."
