Dominik Badinka's Player Profile

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - June 11th: "He has a somewhat unusual upright skating stride, but he arrives everywhere on time, or ahead of opponents. His approach can be a bit hectic at times, but he competes and contributes some depth offence."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "He has good-enough mobility at his size and there’s a little bit more of a puck game for him to pull out. At the U20 level this year, he was able to show an ability to effectively move pucks and play a physical game that made things harder on his opponents."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "He's got size, moves the puck and sees the ice well, likes to carry it and influence play, and plays hard and confidently. He’s a strong skater who takes space on both sides of the puck when it's there. He missed out on playing at U18 worlds last year due to appendicitis, but I think he would have had some more buzz had he played."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "Badinka defends well enough due to his feet and length but he isn't going to run guys over, which leaves some scouts wondering if he's going to be a tweener as a pro. I think his two-way game is strong enough to be a potential No. 4-5 defenseman in the NHL."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "Badinka has a great frame and solid hockey sense, and he doesn’t crumble under pressure. A defenseman who moves well and doesn’t get flustered with the puck when getting chased will have a good career."

Seth Ditchfield - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "Badinka is an aggressive defenseman who often showcases positional awareness and physical power, helping him effectively defend the rush and block the slot in the SHL. Though stickhandling still requires work, this area shows promise as he can fluidly navigate through all 3 zones."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - Apr. 15th: "He is a fluid skater who defends with his feet first but certainly has a willingness to engage physically when it’s needed. Badinka is a better offensive player than his stat line would make you think, connecting on his passes and playing a smart, efficient game in that regard."
