Charlie Elick's Player Profile

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 11th: "A big, physical right-handed shot who is considered an excellent skater with a good shot he was able to consistently get on net from the blue line."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 11th: "Born in Austria and moved to Calgary when he was 6 years old, Elick has good size and is a right-handed shot who competes and battles with consistency, makes good decisions and can transition effectively from his end."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "Elick is a physical defender who takes care of his own end especially well. His skating ability is a stand-out trait, which is why I think he can potentially become a top-four shutdown defenseman for the team that drafts him. He needs to be able to finish offensive plays better with better puck decisions and execution."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "Led by standout physical attributes and excellent skating both forward and backward, Elick is a steady, engaged defender with real defensive upside and a developing offensive game. I like the way he defends in-zone and boxes out."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "Elick isn't a natural puck-mover and can make some questionable puck decisions. He will need to clean that up, but he has good hands and isn't a negative with the puck on his stick. In a role where he just needs to defend well and make a basic outlet, he could potentially have an NHL career."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "The team that drafts Elick is getting someone with size, physicality and good defensive zone awareness. Offense? Nope, although he’s got better abilities with the puck than some might give him credit for."

Luke Sweeney - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "Howe’s best—and most projectable—qualities are his abilities to play through contact as a smaller player, create offensive zone entries, play a possession game along the boards, and funnel to the net to bang in greasy goals. Howe’s showed flashes of dynamic playmaking and puckhandling upside, but even without these, Howe still projects as a dependable, tenacious middle-six winger with scoring upside."
