Artyom Levshunov's Player Profile

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - June 11th: "Levshunov is very aggressive pinching down to extend plays in the offensive zone. He always seems to have the green light to lead the rush or join as an extra layer."

Adam Kimelman - NHL.com - June 11th: "After Celebrini, Levshunov might be the most NHL-ready player in the 2024 draft with the size (6-2, 205) and skill set that helped him have 35 points (nine goals, 26 assists) in 38 games as a college freshman."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 11th: "The Belarus-born right-handed shot was the third-youngest player in men's college hockey and ranked second among NCAA freshman defensemen and tied for 10th among all defensemen in scoring."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "The most complete defenseman in the draft, Levshunov is a physically gifted player with remarkable poise on the ice. He plays a mature, steady game, but also has the offensive skill to make plays in all zones."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "Levshunov’s profile checks a lot of the boxes that teams are looking for in a high-end defenseman. He’s a righty with an extremely imposing and physically mature build already. He’s a smooth skater with plus-level four-way mobility (including a long, gazelle-like stride the length of the ice)."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "He skates well and can play an up-tempo style in how he attacks with his skill. He has the offensive sense to potentially run a PP1 in the NHL and has a good point shot, too. His defensive play doesn't stand out as much, particularly because he tries to attack so much, but he can make stops due to his athleticism and has physicality in his game."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "He’s just got everything scouts want in a high-end defender – size, mobility and puck-moving skills, just to name a few quality traits. He led the Spartans in scoring after putting up one of the most impressive Draft+1 seasons by a defenseman in recent USHL history."

David Saad - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "His combination of size, speed and skill should see him go very early on draft day; but he’s not without his concerns. Levshunov is still adjusting to the NA game, and while it has improved, the unrefined defensive game and some poor habits still plague viewings."

Central Scouting - Apr. 16th: "A smooth-skating defenseman with high-end puck skills. Uses his size, strength and reach as assets to effectively defend in the defensive zone and has a good grasp of positioning and coverage. Quick and agile skater who jumps up into plays and also has a strong backward stride to defend effectively against rushes."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - Apr. 15th: "He has good size and has zero qualms about using it. He skates well, although some of the finer movements, such as pivots, could use some work. Levshunov’s shot is booming, and he can make solid, crisp passes all over the ice."
