Andrew Basha's Player Profile

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - June 11th: "His ability to slip off checks and extend plays with his approach is infectious. Basha brings more than just offence, however. He can be used in a variety of roles. Basha isn’t the tallest player in the draft class, but he plays bigger than his size."

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - June 11th: "Basha (5-11, 187) has an unbelievable compete level with high-end puck skills, impressive skating and an ability to shake off and beat defenders."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "He’s an average-sized winger whose value is pretty much exclusively with the puck on his stick. A lot of the rest of his game is closer to average. That offensive ability and puck sense definitely gives him a chance to be a producer at the next level, but I think he’ll need some more rounding out to challenge for a spot."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "He's a good but not great skater (his skating has come a long way in the last 2-3 years) who gets off the mark quickly and attacks in short bursts but isn't a burner. And while he has excellent hands, he doesn't hold onto the puck too long (a common problem for players with his skill set), instead using a two-touch shot or a quick handle into a deft pass back against the grain to make the majority of his plays on the puck."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "Basha has the offensive talent to score as a pro, but whether he can handle the physicality of the NHL will be a question. He competes hard enough but isn't overly physical, is 5-foot-11 and doesn't create a ton of offense at the net. For those reasons I'm more skeptical of his NHL projection than some even if I see the path to getting games."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "He’s not going to blow you away in the NHL with his skill, but he brings good energy and is strong defensively. Between his 5-on-5 play, his experience on the power play and the playmaking he brings to the table, Basha could be a solid top-six contributor for an NHL team one day."

Luke Sweeney - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "Outside of his skating, Basha’s best attribute is his playmaking. No matter how fast he’s chugging along, Basha’s head is always up, maintaining his keen awareness for where his teammates are to make deceptive and timely slot passes. Especially with his speed, Basha has some checking upside, but at the moment he is not much of a defensive stalwart."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - Apr. 15th: "The kid can absolutely fly. He is among the most exciting and entertaining players in the draft because he can deke and dangle, blow by defenders and thread passes through traffic in a way almost no one else can. "
