Michael Hrabal's Player Profile

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 7th: "In a year where there is a number of talented goaltenders, even amid the risk, landing the one with the highest upside could provide substantial value if he hits."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - June 5th: "A massive netminder who has had some ups and downs this season. His second half in the USHL was a bit underwhelming as he seemed to be a bit fatigued, and his play dipped. His mobility looked a bit slower than it did in the first half."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 5th: "The size jumps out at you right away, but there are layers, good and bad, to the rest of his game. Hrabal gets down into his butterfly a little slowly, opening up his five-hole for shooters (a common problem for bigger goalies)."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 1st: "At 6-foot-6, he’s athletic, composed and he battles. His team this season struggled in front of him and that led to sub-par numbers. That said, Hrabal has all the tools teams are looking for in NHL goalies, even beyond his size."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 30th: "He is efficient in his movements but can make the tough saves across his crease when he needs to. His puck-tracking isn't perfect, but generally I've liked his reads and ability to stay with the play. He has the best chance to be a starter in this class."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 29th: "His international play has been solid, and despite an early exit at the U-18s, Hrabal gave his team a fighting chance. It also helps that he’s 6-foot-6 but moves like a much smaller, more agile netminder."

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - May 5th: "Rebound control was sound. Pucks rarely bounced off him resulting in second chances against. There are moments he does open up moving side to side when tracking the play, with his stick leading behind and pucks beating him between the legs."
