Calum Ritchie's Player Profile

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 7th: "Ritchie played through a shoulder injury this year, which may have impacted his production. At his best, he can score and make good, skilled plays. Plus, hes a 6-2 forward who can play center or wing and provide some offensive upside."

Tony Ferrari - The Hockey News - June 5th: "Ritchie is a good playmaker who tactically uses his passing ability to set his teammates up. The Oshawa center is a good puck transporter through the middle of the ice as well. "

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 5th: "Hes got quick hands (hes prolific on breakaways/in the shootout), a dangerous curl-and-drag wrister, decent cleverness to his game as a passer (whether through seams or often blind), slick skill in traffic and out wide sliding pucks under sticks and rotating through coverage or past checks for a player his size, and a knack for finessing pucks into spots for himself or his linemates to skate onto.

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 1st: "His game lacked a little consistency this year and there were enough times youd lose sight of him in games that it raised some level of concern. Hes got the skating ability and the skill to beat defenders, but he needs more drive and a bit more power to generate more in the middle of the ice."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 30th: "He's a strong puck carrier and playmaker, who can create for teammates off the perimeter and do so with pace. He looks like a top prospect, but he's quite inconsistent. Ritchie has long stretches where he doesn't make much of an impact, and plays too much on the perimeter."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 29th: "What Ritchie lacked in high-end offense this year, he made up for in extra defensive responsibility and more willingness to engage physically."

Jason Bukala - Sportsnet - May 5th: "Cerebral player who leaves me wanting more but also produces more than his share of offence at the OHL level. Will need to play consistently quicker, faster and more engaged for his element to impact the NHL game."
