Marco Rossi's Player Profile

NHL Central Scouting analysis - NHL.com - Apr. 3rd: "He's a highly skilled offensive player who is equally dangerous creating plays and finishing scoring chances. Rossi is an excellent skater, solid on his skates and difficult to knock off the puck, and he can make plays off the rush or in tight areas. He demonstrates a strong cycle game, can extend plays in the offensive zone and can beat defenders with speed or with an impressive set of moves."

Cam Robinson - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 1st: "One of the elder statesmen of the class gives up size but makes up for it in skill. Has the ability to drop-jaws with his puck skills. A duel-threat off of the rush or set up. A monster on the man-advantage."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - Mar. 20th: "The Austria-born left-shot forward led all players in the Canadian Hockey League with 120 points (39 goals, 81 assists) in 56 games, and his average of 2.14 points per game is second. Despite his size he's capable of winning 50/50 puck battles, is strong on face-offs (58.5 winning percentage) and generates offense with his high hockey IQ, good hands and playmaking ability."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - Mar. 6th: "He's capable of winning 50-50 battles, is strong on face-offs and generates offense with his high hockey IQ, good hands and playmaking ability."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Mar. 4th: "There’s no questioning the ability, but some teams fear he won’t be able to do it at centre in the NHL."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - Feb. 5th: "He's capable of winning 50-50 battles, is strong on face-offs and generates offense with his high hockey IQ, good hands and playmaking ability."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Feb. 5th: "An engine that never stops, the Austrian-born phenom has gone just one game without a point since November 8."

Tony Ferrari - Dobber Prospects - Jan. 29th: "The young Austrian has missed time due to injury and suspension this season but his production speaks for itself. He and Perfetti both have concerns with their skating but they have both improved over the course of the season, lessening that worry."

Brock Otten - McKeen's Hockey - Jan. 21st: "Rossi is a terrific playmaker who plays the game a lot bigger than his lack of size would suggest. His compete level is very high, and he excels in traffic, rather than shy away from it. He is also an intelligent two-way player."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Dec. 4th: "Some GMs will be cautious to draft a 5-foot-9 centre, but Rossi can literally do it all and his hockey IQ should allow him to do it all at the next level as well."

Will Scouch - Scouching.ca - Nov. 19th: "He's skilled, agile, plays hard, has swagger, and if he can rein in the legitimately troublesome moments he's had this year, he could be a tremendous player down the line."

Larry Fisher - The Hockey Writers - Nov. 19th: "Rossi has been lighting up the OHL as a speedster with terrific offensive instincts. He’s a smart player overall — a 200-foot contributor — but a real catalyst on the attack. He’s small but sturdy, so that lack of size shouldn’t hold him back."

Ryan Kennedy - The Hockey News - Nov. 10th: "The Austrian dynamo has superb skill and hockey sense, and also plays a responsible two-way game. Has an edge."

Tony Ferrari -Wings Nation - Nov. 4th: "Undersized forward who has great hands and a dangerous shot. He’s been suspended once this year for dirty play and has been close on at least one other occasion."

Scott Wheeler -The Athletic - Nov. 4th: "I can tell you, too, that he’s a thick 5-foot-9 with a crazy-low centre of gravity (both of which will help him stick at centre at the NHL level). And then the talent level speaks for itself. He’s not only extremely dynamic with the puck on his stick, he’s also a superb defensive player."
