John-Jason Peterka's Player Profile

Jeff Rea - Dobber Prospects - Sept. 30th: The heavy 5’11, 192lb left-winger plays a simple north-south game and excels in transition and on the forecheck. He moves well, is positionally responsible and is capable of generating offense through his skating, quick release, tendency to take the puck to the net and penchant for driving the net. "

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - Sept. 21st: "He’s a middle-lane driver who shoots a lot and works to get to the front of the net to finish off plays. He’s just naturally athletic and it fits well with his up-tempo, north-south game. As the season progressed, though, he never really showed me he had the tools to be more than that."

Steve Kourmianos - The Draft Analyst - Aug. 10th: "Peterka can serve in a dual-threat role but his finishing abilities are off the charts. Considering how unstoppable his line can be while playing alongside the likes of Lukas Reichel and Tim Stutzle, it’s easy to see why a team picking late in the first round would want to claim Peterka as one of its own."

Chris Peters - ESPN - June 30th: "Peterka has a scorer's mentality, with good net drive and excellent sense for how to pop into areas of the ice where it will be easier to score. He has an excellent release and a heavier shot."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - June 25th: "Plays a well-rounded mature game that includes good numbers up against men in a quality league proving to be a hotbed for young talent."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - June 22nd: "An offensive-minded two-way forward who scored six points (four goals, two assists) and had 15 shots on goal in seven games for Germany at the 2020 World Juniors has good readiness to shoot from tough angles. He works hard and exhibits a lot of intensity and determination each shift."

Jordan Deshane - The Hockey Writers - May 22nd: "His blend of speed and skill will give them something they currently lack. He’s shown the ability to perform well with offensive players at the World Junior Championships but has also contributed in a depth role in the DEL. He will need to develop more consistency and will need at least a couple more seasons to mature as a player, but he could turn into an offensive contributor in the top-six."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Apr. 8th: "More of a safe bet than his fellow countryman Lukas Reichel, but not quite the same offensive upside."
