Jacob Perreault's Player Profile

Tony Ferrari - Dobber Prospects - Sept. 30th: "The Sarnia Sting right-winger came into the year with his biggest flaw being his skating and his speed. He instantly showed improvement in that area of the game. While his stride does still have some technical issues, he has grown into his stride and looks to be at least an above-average skater."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - Sept. 21st: "Perreault has mystified me over the last two years. There are stretches in games where he can look slow from a standstill and a little heavy-footed. There are others where, once he gets moving, he shows some real speed and can burn defenders."

Steve Kourmianos - The Draft Analyst - Aug. 10th: "Finding consistency in his efforts away from the puck and taking advantage of his speed are two critical areas that Perreault needs to work on. His shot and hands, however, are near elite."

Chris Peters - ESPN - June 30th: "Among the best pure goal scorers in this class, Perreault has an elite shot. His one-timers are deadly, and he changes up his release points on his shot often, which makes him much more deceptive for opposing goalies."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - June 25th: "Deceptive skater who’s smart enough to know when to turn it on. Another player whose goal-scoring pops."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - June 22nd: "He possesses an impressive offensive skill set with good vision and ability to make plays off the rush or with accurate passes in the offensive zone."

Kevin Armstrong - The Hockey Writers - May 11th: "The son of a long time NHLer, Yanic Perreault, Jacob is an offensive threat who in his rookie year was up there with Byfield, Rossi and Perfetti. He has been stuck on a horrible Sting team yet still been able to shine without much help around him."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Apr. 8th: "Another fascinating player in this draft class, whose best trait is goal-scoring. Yet there are question marks about his play away from the puck."

Cam Robinson - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 1st: "A versatile pivot who uses a heavy release to create space to distribute to his wings. Good hockey sense with sharp cuts. Can get lost in the shuffle at times."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - Mar. 20th: "The versatile right wing has one of the best shots in the 2020 draft class. The 17-year-old son of former NHL forward Yanic Perreault, he led Sarnia with 39 goals and 15 power-play goals in 57 games."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - Mar. 6th: "The versatile right wing and son of former NHL forward Yanic Perreault, possesses one of the best shots of the draft class."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Mar. 4th: "A look at old-school stats is fascinating. On track to score 40 goals with a minus-40 rating. NHL bloodlines always add bonus points to a players’ projection."
