Alex Newhook's Player Profile

Cam Robinson - Dobber Prospects - Dec. 20th: "Dangerous hands, good hockey sense and is equally deadly with the pass or the shot. Already a strong defensive player. Has lacked consistency this season, and was less-than-stellar at the WJAC."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Dec. 12th: "Points come in bunches, and a lot of them are of the highlight variety. Leads the BCHL and will likely be in that same spot upon returning from the World Junior A Challenge."

Derek Neumeier - Future Considerations - Dec. 7th: "The BCHL’s leading scorer with 53 points in 31 games at just 17 years of age, the Newfoundlander is one of the best skaters in the entire draft and also possesses some of the best playmaking and creativity."

Sam Cosentino - SportsNet - Nov. 7th: "Highly motivated from not making Canada’s Hlinka-Gretzky team, he has taken his frustrations out against the rest of the BCHL with 34 points in 22 games."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - Nov. 6th: "Newhook breaks teams down on the power play with his hesitations. He burns them on the rush with speed and the ability to recover from bad passes or a slight bobble."

Cam Robinson - Dobber Prospects - Nov. 5th: "Speed for days and the disregard for safety to use it anywhere. Dangerous hands, good hockey sense and is equally deadly with the pass or the shot. Already a strong defensive player."

Steve Kournianos - The Draft Analyst - Nov. 5th: "Newhook, who is headed to Boston College, is lighting up the BCHL since late September to a tune of almost two points per game."

Sam Cosentino - SportsNet - Oct. 2nd: "Had a monster rookie season in the BCHL, regularly exhibiting highlight-reel abilities. His playmaking ability is elite, but he can shoot it too, and becoming a more complete goal-scorer will be the plan this season. Effort doesn’t deviate on the defensive side."

Craig Button TSN - Aug. 14th: "Very smart with the ability to make plays and create offence. More quick than fast, but has a cat-like ability to make things happen quickly."
