Trevor Carrick's Player Profile

Trevor Carrick is hoping to be the third in his family to be drafted to the NHL. His older brother Sam is a prospect of the Toronto Maple Leafs and his cousin Bobby Hughes was once drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes. Carrick is a solid, two-way defenceman who is just going to get better as his major junior career progresses, especially with Mississauga having a young defence. With Stuart Percy's graduation to the professional ranks more imminent than ever, Carrick will be called upon to be one of the Steelheads' best blueliners, much along the same mould as Percy, Cameron Gaunce and Brett Flemming. Carrick has a crisp first pass and his shot is steadily improving. He takes care of his own end quite well and he is finding himself to be a fixture on the attack, as well. Much like his two older brothers who have been in the OHL before him, he is quite adept at the physical game. Professional grooming will help him to add to his confidence, something that he seems to have a lot of already.
