Jarrod Maidens' Player Profile

Jarrod Maidens has been one of the biggest surprises in the OHL over the last two seasons for the Owen Sound Attack. Despite missing significant time over each of the last two years with injuries, Maidens, who scored 104 points in his last season of minor midget hockey, has shown in the allotment of games he has played that he is a stellar offensive force. After a 21-point rookie season (in only 47 games), Maidens proved himself in the 2011 OHL playoffs, scoring the championship-winning goal in overtime. A significant injury hampered his second year, his draft year, but he still managed to score 23 points in 28 games. Despite the fact that he has been prone to calamity, Maidens is a can't-miss prospect with incredible speed and point production ability that makes him one of the most complete players eligible for the draft. A full season of major junior hockey, coupled with his talents, will make him one of the more dominant players in the league, especially in the mould of former Attack forwards such as Bobby Ryan, Trevor Lewis and Joey Hishon.
