Daniil Zharkov's Player Profile

Daniil Zharkov was an absolute revelation for the Belleville Bulls in 2011-12. Despite having to wait to start his OHL career after suffering an injury, Zharkov became one of the Bulls' more complete players almost immediately, showing his offensive prowess with two goals in his first game. Before long, Zharkov was becoming Mr. Everything in Belleville, playing in all situations and even mixing things up physically. Zharkov definitely did not play like an import; rather, he had elements of his North American teammates, players such as Luke Judson, Joseph Cramarossa, Carter Sandlak and Dylan Corson. He exhibited on several occasions how he could be a very solid offensive force but, as the season progressed, he demonstrated how he is focused and determined to elevate his defensive game. Another year of junior hockey at the OHL level will be beneficial in the honing of all of his skills, something that he is starting to do quite well already. The OHL has also taught him to not be selfish and use his teammates well, something that will make him a complete player at the next level.
