Dougie Hamilton's Player Profile

Hamilton has NHL size right now but may need a year to develop his defensive game. Standing at 6'3, Hamilton is a force on the Ice Dog's blueline. His offensive production has gone up this year by 9 goals and could up even more in the upcoming years. He is a stellar talent who will be a good NHL'er for a longtime. He is one of those players that could play in the NHL next year depending on the team that drafts him. Most likely, he will be back with the Ice Dog's for one year, and than potentially spend a year in the AHL. Watch for Dougie Hamilton to be drafted anywhere from 4-10 in this year's draft.

A big two-way defender with the ability to log big minutes? Sign me up. Hamilton is a sizeable blueliner at 6’4 and almost 200 lbs, who skates well for a big man. He has a powerful stride and gets up and down the ice, as well as having great footwork down low in the defensive zone. He’s a right-handed defenseman, with a powerful shot, and the ability to move the puck. He’s a kid who wants to win and score goals, and will join the rush as often as possible, and sometimes he finds himself going to the net. He’s a smart kid who takes tremendous care of his body, and never looks exhausted in the game.
