Cam Fowler's Player Profile

Fowler has all the tools one needs to be a great defenseman. He is an unbelievably smooth skater (one of the best in this draft), and possesses fantastic speed. He is quite agile in the defensive end, and his skating makes him a valuable contributor on the rush and in the offensive zone. He has a good shot that can be quite potent on the power play. Fowler has a good frame, and adding muscle will make his defensive game stronger. His defensive game isn’t perfect, but certainly not something he can’t improve on. We see his weakness as being tentative as far as playing the body and physical play in general. We think he takes a long route to the puck at times, and rushes some plays on occasion if he sees a big hit coming. It won’t show up as much now but could in the NHL if not corrected.
