Luca Sbisa Player Profile
The Swiss born defender after moving to the WHL has adapted to the North American game quite well, and has shown that is not afraid of physical contact as is often associated with European defencemen. Plays all 3 levels of ice-time, PK, PP, and even strength and plays them all regularly, has worked his way up the depth chart in Lethbridge. Great breakout pass and great vision, extremely fast and gifted skater, obviously has great offensive instincts and could be a great PP QB. Like most offensive guys, he is guilty of trying to do too much and forcing the puck into places, resulting in giveaways.Submitted by: Lee F
Has adjusted well coming over from Switzerland. Plays in all situations,PP,PK and regular duties. Has a nice smooth stride that reminds one of a young Paul Coffey. Has shown that he will not intimated as he has dropped the gloves numerous times throughout the season. Really rounding into from. Is probably Lethbridge's best all round D-man. Likes to go with the puck and is gaining more and more confidence as the season is wears on. Can be physical and will block shots. Offensive game is progressing nicely. Really showed up Brandon D-man Colby Robak in '08 play-offs. Has played through pain and injuries this season. Will be a top 10-15 pick. Speaks 4 languages(Italian,German,French and Swiss). Mom and Dad are half Italian. Last name is Italian not Eastern European! Has a great attitude and work ethic. Favorite team ,Toronto Maple-Leafs and favorite player is Mats Sundin. Will be a top 4 D-man.
