Alexander Zetterberg's Player Profile
Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 3rd: "At 5-foot-7, Zetterberg has an uphill battle to prove he can be an NHL player. But he is a brilliant skater, which gives him a chance. He also was one of Sweden’s most productive players in the history of their U18 national team. An injury off of a big hit ended his U18 Worlds early and also served as a reminder of the risk of smaller players"Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - June 3: "He’s got great speed, which helps to offset some of the strength deficiencies when he’s playing down the middle. He’s got a magnetic ability with the puck and because of his light, airy skating mechanics, he’s able to dart past defenders in transition, knife through coverage and quickly escape the boards out of won foot races in order to avoid having to engage in too many battles along the wall."
Corey Pronman - The Athletic - May 28th: "His size is the major issue in his projection. He is very small, and while he plays center in junior Zetterberg is very likely a pro wing. I think the talent and pace could get him games, but he needs to prove he will be so dynamic to get a long-term NHL role."
Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - May 28th: "Some scouts love him. Some think he won’t even get drafted. Myself? All he does is score. You could see how less dynamic the Swedes were at the U-18 World Championship once Zetterberg suffered his concussion."
Seth Ditchfield - Dobber Prospects - Apr. 20th: "He showcases sharp two-way play, above-average puck skills, and excellent hockey sense. Despite lacking the size and speed to win puck battles, his intelligent play and dangerous one-timer compensate effectively."
