Simon Edvinsson's Player Profile

Cam Robinson - Dobber Prospects - : "His ability to quickly cover ground is nearly unmatched in this class. This is a very raw prospect but one that boasts incredible upside. But the awareness is a question mark at this point."

Joel Henderson - Dobber Prospects - Feb. 3rd: "He is so fleet of foot and that can be his biggest asset or detriment at times. He is so mobile that he often chooses aggressive defensive approaches because he knows he can recover if it goes sour."

Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com - Jan. 23rd: "Edvinsson is physical left-shot defenseman with a good set of tools, including mobility, skating and a strong shot."

Craig Button - TSN - Dec. 15th: "Elite skater with the ability to create advantages and impact the game. Assertive in his approach. Has all of the attributes to be a complete defenceman."

Bob McKenzie - TSN - Dec. 15th: "The 6-foot-4 Swedish blueliner has the size, mobility, puck-moving and offensive upside to project as a potential top-pair NHL defenceman. Two of our 10 scouts pegged him at No. 1, but four scouts ranked Edvinsson outside the Top 10. Its that kind of year."

Sam Cosentino - Sportsnet - Nov. 27th: "Confident avoiding the first wave of the forecheck before effectively moving the puck. Gets around the ice with ease."

Corey Pronman - The Athletic - Oct. 8th: "Edvinsson checks off a lot of the things you want in a pro defenseman. Hes 6-foot-4 and hes not overly quick, but hes mobile for that size, he can move pucks up the ice and he can kill rushes coming toward him."

Ryan Quigley - Broad Street Hockey - Oct. 8th: "Much like Owen Power, Edvinsson is going to draw attention simply due to his size. At 64 and 185 pounds, hes easily one of the biggest defensemen eligible for the 2021 draft, and theres likely still room for him to grow."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - Sept. 14th: "He has the defensive tools youd hope for out of a top-ranked defender with his size in that hes smart on his pinches, he uses his length effectively to hold gaps, and his skating is an asset rather than a hindrance."

Jokke Edvinsson - Dobber Prospects - Sept. 12th: "Edvinsson follows the footsteps of Philip Broberg and William Wallinder as a big puck-moving defenseman coming out of Sweden. Edvinsson is a great skater for his size and knows how to move the puck very well. His strengths are on offense but hes not a liability defensively either."
